Internet Wedding to Elevate Delaware Economy
Isn’t it special if all the members of your family are present in your wedding day? But there are circumstances where some family members could not travel far to see their loved one get married.
The government of Sussex County in Delaware is considering the idea of broadcasting weddings over the Internet. Other places have already embraced this idea, like the New Castle County. Sussex County is one great wedding destination and broadcasting weddings over the Internet will make it more attractive. This would create a tourism boon that would give a much-needed boost to the local economy. More couples will visit the area not only because of its great sceneries that are perfect for a destination wedding, but also because they can be with their family from across the globe on their wedding day.
The great thing about this proposal is that the cost for the service will be paid solely by those who opt to take advantage of it. According to Sussex Clerk of the Peace George Parish, the man behind the idea, the broadcast fee will be large enough that taxpayers won’t have to subsidize it. But this proposal has not yet gone before Sussex County Council, so the real cost is not yet determined.
In today’s tight economy, everyone is hoping for more business and more ways to save. County officials should support any measure that could attract more vacationers who will browse in our shops and dine in our eateries.
